Dirk Schumann GmbH was founded in 1995 by Dirk Schumann in Hilgert / Höhr-Grenzhausen. The company was initially a supplier of special-purpose machines and special components to industrial customers. It supplemented the product portfolio by performing maintenance work on customer machines and systems.

Over the years the company expanded its activities into the construction, upgrading and adaptation of coating machines, dryers and other process-relevant systems. Great importance was always attached to customer requirements and the precise adaptation of the work performed to the customer’s production processes.

In the year 2010 the company took the logical step of extending its business activities into vehicle testing technology and supplementing its existing product and service portfolio. Initially only providing maintenance and repair services, the company soon gained the necessary experience to develop and implement modern and innovative vehicle test bench concepts.

The first test bench to be developed and built entirely from scratch was supplied to a famous German motorcycle manufacturer at the beginning of 2010 and successfully put into operation after a very short acceptance phase. It performed so well that further test benches were manufactured for customers in Germany and abroad.

In addition to the continuous extension of the in-house machine park to include lathes, milling machines and & CNC machines, the company has a modern CAD system which it uses to realise complex designs and deliver end-to-end engineering on an in-house basis. The service portfolio is rounded off with a detailed documentation service in compliance with statutory requirements.
